Since Apple released Mojave OS in 2018, Macs have had a built-in screen record feature. This makes it easy to capture and record the whole screen or just a part of it, like a program window. Don’t worry if you have an older OS; you can still easily record your screen by using an app called QuickTime Player.

On macOS Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, or High Sierra, we’ll show you how to record your screen.

If you have a newer MacOS, Apple has added a new feature called “Screenshot” that makes it easy to record your screen and save recordings. There are two ways to open Screenshots. One is to use the QuickTime Player app, and the other is to use keyboard shortcuts to open the Screenshot toolbar directly.

How to Open Screenshot Using Quick Time Player App

  1. Open the QuickTime Player app on your Mac and click on ‘File’ then ‘New Screen Recording.’ Screenshot will open automatically and display the tools and options available.

You can choose what part of the screen to record, or you can choose to record only certain windows or a section of the screen. Your recording can also include the mouse pointer or mouse clicks.
