Apple Weather
Since the first iPhone came out in 2007, Apple has had a built-in weather app. Apple Weather has been a good but simple app for many years. It was always helpful for getting the temperature and a general idea of what the weather would be like, but people who wanted more information had to use a third-party app.
Even though Apple improved its Weather app in later iOS versions, it really stepped up its game when it bought Dark Sky, one of the most famous weather apps on the App Store, a couple of years ago. All of a sudden, the built-in Weather app became much more accurate and started using some of the best features of Dark Sky, like alerts for bad weather and predictions of rain for the next hour.
By the time iOS 15 came out in 2021, Apple Weather had also added full-screen weather maps that showed projected precipitation, air quality, and temperature, as well as next-hour rain visualizations in most of the U.S., the U.K., and parts of Canada.
Apple topped it all off with a beautiful new design that includes animated backgrounds that show realistic sun and cloud coverage for your chosen spot, as well as some cool animations for rain and snow. Apple Weather is now one of the most beautiful, useful, and correct weather apps out there. It gets its weather information from a lot of different places. If its humble roots have made you think it’s not worth much, you should give it another look.
