Step 7: The main process goes down here, so pay attention to the instructions to avoid mistakes and misconfiguration.

  1. Add your name in the first box.
  2. The type email address that you want to synchronize.
  3. Select “IMAP” as the account type.
  4. Now, type “imap.gmail.com” and move to the next step. In case, if you select POP, then “pop.gmail.com” goes in the empty field.
  5. In the next step, type “smtp.gmail.com” in the empty field.
  6. In the username, type an email address that you added above.
  7. Password of the username entered in the empty field above.

Step 8: Click on “more settings” and select “outgoing server,” then select “my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.” Make sure that “use the same setting as my incoming mail server.”

Step 9: Click on “advanced,” then select “SSL” in both fields. Make sure to type 993 in the incoming server, and 465 in the outgoing server, and then click on “OK.”

Step 10: Click on next, then you have a pop up on your screen. Add an email address, password and click on “OK” to proceed further.

Step 11: The Outlook or email client begins to connect the Google mail server and fetches the information.

Step 12: Launch the email client and in case, if nothing shows up on the screen, then follow the steps. Click on “send/receive > send/receive all folder > a window pop-up on your screen. Let the window search for all emails, folders, and files and load them on the computer.

Microsoft Outlook is an excellent option for the users because it helps the Windows users to access the email without worrying about the security. The company aims to provide the latest features in the updates, so update the program occasionally.
